Our Favorite Walmart buys for toddlers

In case you didn’t know, Walmart is an excellent place to buy what you need for your baby or toddler. Recently, we made a trip to Walmart for family supplies after mostly depending on Target, and we were pleasantly surprised by the prices and quality brand-name items available for purchase. Here is a short list of some of our favorite items that we found.

Favorite Walmart buys for toddlers: Baby Wipes

Walmart is a good place to buy in bulk. Perhaps not at the level of Costco, but if you are looking to stock up, this is a good place to do so. That being said, you will look for items guaranteed to be used for your toddler. That way, you will save money by buying ahead at the right price. I don’t know about you, but wipes are one of those items in our house that we are guaranteed to use.

I look around at the packages of wipes around our house and know that they will all be used sooner or later. It’s one of those items, like toilet paper, so you can rest assured that the money buying won’t go to waste. And that’s why it makes our favorite Walmart buys for toddlers list because it’s a great way to save money.

At Walmart, you can find a pack of Pampers wipes for under $24 in a pack of 672. That’s a good deal for Pampers. You can also find a 900-pack of Parent’s Choice for under $18. Of course, that’s also a great quantity for the price. But whether you lean more on quality or quantity, you can always rely on Walmart for a good or great price for items like these.

Pull Ups

If you need pull-up diapers for your toddler, Walmart is a great place to buy them. You will likely find your preferred brand name at an excellent price point. As of the date this post was written, you can buy a 70-count of Pull-Ups by Huggies from Walmart for less than $27. That’s an excellent price point for these, and it’s worth buying more than one box if you know your toddler will be in the same size for a while.

The great thing about the diaper and pull-up choices at Walmart is that they seem to cover all of the stages very well in terms of the price points. I didn’t find that newborn diapers were overpriced, nor the older pull-ups and trainers. If you prefer to shop at Walmart for any items in general, and you need diapers and pull-ups, this might be a good place to go ahead and stock up.

Pouches

Another great item to pick up from Walmart is pouches. We bought a whole box and were very happy with the price. We don’t normally buy a whole box. We typically get our toddler’s pouches individually from Publix or Aldi, but we found a box of Plum Organics pouches for only $11.58 for a box of 8. But you can also purchase individual pouches from Parent’s Choice for as low as $.67. Depending on whether you need to stock your diaper bag with a few pouches or if you want to buy a few boxes for the month, Walmart has an excellent variety of quality and price just for you.

Good pouches that your toddler will enjoy can be hard to find depending on their stage in development. That’s another good thing about Walmart. They will have plenty of stock for you to choose from. Rarely will they be so low on stock that they won’t have what you need in this area. Plenty of shelves should have just what you’re looking for, which will make it easier to find the right balance of price and quality you’re looking for.

What we end up doing at home is getting a variety of pouches with ones that are just for special or moody occasions. So, if necessary, we will pull out the Cocomelon pouches to help calm down or make a better transition to playtime. You should find just what you’re looking for in the pouches section.

Potty Seat

Last but certainly not least, if you are looking for a potty seat for your toddler, Walmart is a great place to purchase one. You can find a quality option that is less than $10, but you can also find a seat with steps attached for under $30. We chose the $12 Paw Patrol, or rather, our toddler chose it, and he has been very happy with it as he learns the important skill of potty training.

Potty training is one of the most important skills your toddler will learn because it’s a huge developmental step that teaches independence, responsibility, and timing, among other things. Choosing a good seat for their developmental stage and personality is important because it will encourage them to want to go at the right time and help them get used to the process more quickly.

Our toddler uses a separate set of small steps to get up on the potty, and we have the kind placed on top of the seat. This helped him get used to the process because he liked to climb up on the steps independently, but he is slowly getting away from wanting to use the steps and instead wants us to sit him directly on the seat. We’ll see how this goes because the whole point of the steps was to encourage him to do the process on his own. But either way, he wants to go and enjoys doing so, and we are grateful for that.
